The SG-1000 (abbreviation for Sega Game 1000) is a video game console developed and released by Sega. It wasn't very successful or popular, but it was important in the development of the next Sega console, the Master System. A computer version of the SG-1000, the SC-3000 outsold the SG-1000. This was the first console developed by Sega, and Sega would go on to make more advanced consoles, such as the Mega Drive, Dreamcast, and Saturn.
